A tough, rugged backrower who doesn’t take a backward step. Tuisue is one of Fiji’s leading backrowers and has the ability to play anywhere from 4-8.
Albert Tuisue was once again at his best for Provence who put in one of their best performances of the season, defeating Brive 25-3 in a near shut-out win.
He scored a try in the 24th minute off the back of a lineout maul, his 2nd 5 pointer for the club.
Was extra physical defensively and carried well into contact.
His best 2 performances have come on the back of his surprising omission from the Flying Fijians squad.
Albert Tuisue took on the role of “enforcer” as Provence faced rivals Oyonnax in round 8. The Kadavu native turned up the physicality meter with some heavy hits in defence.
A total of 13 tackles with some big carries and great work at the breakdown.
He was a surprise omission from the Flying Fijians November tour named by head coach Mick Byrne earlier in the week and maybe that played into him having a big performance.
The match was tight right till the end but the home side managed to keep Provence scoreless in the final 15 minutes whilst kicking 2 penalties to get the the win 30-25.
Provence’ form has been hard to gauge this season, their 2 wins heading into round 6 were over struggling sides Biarritz and Dax. Although they were convincing in their wins (52-10, 42-15), they suffered 3 losses including a heavy defeat to Vannes 40-7.
In round 6 however they managed to beat one of the competition heavyweights in Grenoble on their own turf.
Trailing 20-11 at the break, the visitors managed to work their way back into the game and take the lead back in the 2nd half, holding out the home side until the final whistle for a 1 point win 24-23.
Albert Tuisue came off the bench in this match, playing the final 15 minutes. He managed 3 carries and 1 tackle.
Albert Tuisue had his best performance in a Provence shirt. They faced Dax and were awarded a penalty try after only 3 minutes. It didn’t take long for Provence to add to their lead, scoring again in the 8th minute via rolling maul to Tuisue, his first 5 pointer for the club.
He also made 12 carries, 2nd only to Setareki Bituniyata, 51 metres and missed none of his 12 tackle attempts.
The Flying Fijians loosie also gave away 3 penalties, mostly at the ruck. Final score Provence 42-15 Dax.
It was an impressive effort from the big man and a positive sign heading into the end of year representative season.

Provence continue their rise up the ranks after an impressive near shut-out of Brive 25-3.
A game which featured several Fijians including Albert Tuisue who started at Flanker for the home side and scored a try from a rolling maul in the 25th minute. It's his 2nd try for the club in what is now his 8th game.
Brive winger Asaeli Tuivuaka lasted only 11 minutes, forced to leave the field with concussion from which he didn't return.
Caleb Muntz was also pivotal, kicking 2 penalties and 2 of 3 conversions.
Albert Tuisue scored his first Pro D2 try for Provence who notched their second win of the season - over Dax 42-15.
The home side were awarded a penalty try after only 4 minutes and 3 minutes later they found themselves in a similar situation, with a rolling maul close to the Dax tryline. They pushed over once again and this time Tuisue got the ball down.
Dax kept things competitive in the first half but couldn't contain the home side in the 2nd half.
The 2025-2026 Pro D2 season is underway with 43 Fijians across 16 teams.
Former Fijian Drua lock Ratu Leone Rotuisolia lines up for Oyonnax, Albert Tuisue and Caleb Muntz for Provence amongst many more in what promises to be an exciting season.
Flying Fijians backrower Albert Tuisue will join Provence in the Pro D2 next season, leaving Gloucester after 3 years. Tuisue is due to join the Fiji test camp for their upcoming tests against the Wallabies and Scotland. See all transfers
