Mataele battled injury the past 2 seasons, managing just 2 caps for the Chiefs in 2025 and 2 games for Canterbury in the 2024 NPC, where he will return for the upcoming season.

Isoa Nasilasila has signed a 1 year extension with the Fijian Drua, keeping him at the club until at least the end of 2026.
Chiefs Winger Manasa Mataele has signed with Fijian Drua for 2 years, as revealed by the Fijian Drua official Facebook page.
NEC Green Rockets Centre Nathanael Tupou is confirmed as one of the players leaving the club. The 2nd year Centre battled injury in the opening 2 seasons of his pro career but managed to finish this season strongly, playing in 6 matches and scoring 2 tries.
No new club has been confirmed.
The Fijian Drua have announced the signing of former Melbourne Rebels Lock Angelo Smith.
