Lautoka born Nathan Hughes is known for his brutal defense and all round power game. He possesses a big right hand fend, has great footwork for a man his size and loves the contact on both sides of the ball.
Nathan first appeared in the top grade for Auckland in the 2011 ITM Cup. In 2013 he was selected by then Flying Fijians coach Inoke Male for the Fiji Warriors as vice captain behind skipper Nemani Nadolo. He signed with Wasps a month later.
He has 22 caps for England since his international debut in 2016.

In 2017 he played in the Premiership final against Exeter and his side narrowly lost 23-20.
In 2019 He joined Bristol under coach Pat Lam and scored in his debut for the club.
He’s been a big part of the Bristol revival that has seen the club return to the top of the Premiership and win their first piece of silverware since 1983 when they won the European Challenge Cup in 2020.
They also were in pole position to make the Premiership final after finishing first after the regular season but were defeated in the Semi Final by eventual Champions Harlequins.
