Super Rugby is the premier Rugby Competition in the Southern Hemisphere. It features 11 teams, 5 from New Zealand, 4 from Australia, 1 from Fiji and 1 based in New Zealand representing Samoa and Tonga.
Highlanders Centre Timoci Tavatavanawai has been selected in the All-Blacks team to face France in the 2nd test of their 3 match series. He has been named on the bench and will officially make his International debut when he takes the field.
The 27 year old left Fiji at the age of 16 to pursue his rugby dreams and has turned down approaches to play for his homeland in the hope of securing a prestigious New Zealand jersey.
Highlanders Co-Captain Timoci Tavatavanawai is one of 5 new faces named in the All-Blacks squad today. The powerful Centre has turned down Flying Fijians invitations on multiple occasions and his faith has seemingly paid off.
Since his debut season with Moana Pasifika, the Tailevu native has been a Super Rugby sensation and his move to the Highlanders has only further solidified his stature in the competition.
Also named in the squad is regular Sevu Reece. Unlucky to miss is Crusaders Prop George Bower, Chiefs winger Emoni Narawa and Blues Number 8 Hoskins Sotutu.
The Crusaders have returned to the top of the Super Rugby mountain, winning the 2025 title after beating the Chiefs 16-12 in a tense and exciting match.
They led 13-12 at halftime and both sides failed to score any points until a 72nd minute penalty gave the home side a 4 point buffer which they maintained until the final whistle. The win gives the Crusaders their 13th title in combined competition.
Sevu Reece started at Wing while George Bower came off the bench in the 54th minute.
The Chiefs heartbroken after their 3rd straight Grand Final defeat. Emoni Narawa started on the wing.
The Fijian have announced the signing of former Chiefs and Crusaders winger Manasa Mataele. The veteran finisher brings a wealth of experience to a young backline who lost some of their biggest names this off-season.
Mataele battled injury the past 2 seasons, managing just 2 caps for the Chiefs in 2025 and 2 games for Canterbury in the 2024 NPC, where he will return for the upcoming season.
The Fijian Drua have revealed their latest signing in former Melbourne Rebels Lock Angelo Smith.
Smith played 20 matches for the now defunct Rebels in their final 2 seasons. He was selected for the Flying Fijians in 2023 but left camp before playing a match. He bolsters the Locks department which already has representative players Isoa Nasilasila and Temo Mayanavanua.
The Chiefs have secured their place in the Super Rugby final after beating the Brumbies 37-17. Winger Emoni Narawa scored 2 tries for the home side who are hoping to win their first title in this their third straight attempt.
Another solid performance from Elia Canakaivata in Fiji’s win over Scotland. Starting at openside flanker again, he was strong with ball in hand, gaining precious metres and getting Fiji on the front foot.
Defensively he was menace in the rucks and also forced 2 turnovers.
Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula replaced Salesi Rayasi in the 54th minute of their win over Scotland. The Drua flyhalf immediately sparked the backline who at that point became a little stagnant. He shifted the ball around well and together with Caleb Muntz, kept the opposition guessing.
He combined with Muntz to send Jiuta Wainiqolo on a brilliant run that ended in a try.
