A talented Winger with silky skills and great finishing ability. Rayasi is in his second Top 14 season, joining Vannes then Bordeaux after leaving the Hurricanes.
Salesi Rayasi made his official debut for Bordeaux in their opening match of the season against La Rochelle.
He entered the game early in the 2nd half and was involved in a tryscoring movement but was later stretchered off after suffering a concussion attempting a tackle 11 minutes into his time on the field.
With the mandatory stand-down period for head concussions, Rayasi will miss atleast 1 match.
Salesi Rayasi put in another strong showing for the Flying Fijians, this time against Scotland in Suva.
He made 52 metres from 9 carries and a clean linebreak where he nearly set up a try. He threw the final pass for Kalaveti Ravouvou who scored Fiji’s 2nd try.
Moving forward Rayasi looks to be Fiji’s best option in the 15 jersey and barring injury will likely hold that position going into the Autumn Nations Series.
Salesi Rayasi made his debut for Fiji in their loss to Australia. He showed poise and calmness, and was lethal with ball in hand. Scored Fiji’s opening try when he finished off some great leadup work by beating 3 defenders to score in the left corner.
His kicking game from deep inside the Fiji half also got the team out of trouble on multiple occasions.
Equal high 12 team carries, made 80 metres and beat an equal team high 6 defenders with Jiuta Wainiqolo.
Was replaced late in the match with leg cramps.
Salesi Rayasi will make his debut for the Flying Fijians in their test match against the Wallabies for the Vuvale Bowl this Sunday.
The former New Zealand Sevens Rep has been named to start at Fullback, rounding off an exciting backline featuring Top 14 stars Jiuta Wainiqolo & Josua Tuisova, Bristol’s metre eater Kalaveti Ravouvou and Drua Centre Iosefo Masi.
