Former Queen Victoria School student Timoci Tavatavanawai is known for his powerful running and tackle breaking abilities. A former Fiji Under 20’s rep who was part of the Crusaders and Highlanders wider squads in 2021.
After representing Fiji at Under 20’s level he moved to New Zealand and played for Central Rugby Club in the Marlborough region.
In early 2021 he played for the Crusaders in a preseason match against the Highlanders and scored a double.
He signed with Tasman Mako in the NPC and played 11 games in the 2021 season, scoring 5 tries.
A talented runner of the ball Tavatavanawai’s focus was to secure a Super Rugby contract with one of the New Zealand franchises. That goal became a reality when Moana Pasifika acquired his services for their inaugural season.
Timoci was named Tasman Mako Rookie of the year in 2021, the year which Tasman were runners up in the NPC Premiership.
He was named on the wing to make his Super Rugby debut in the Moana Pasifika vs Blues clash on Saturday 2nd April 2022.
