A young, skilful backrower who is great defensively. Wong looks to have nailed down a spot in the Roosters 17 this season. At such a young age, he has already represented both Fiji and Tonga.

The Roosters suffered a home loss against the Melbourne Storm on Thursday night 30-34.

Wong scored his 2nd try of the season when he chased through a kick, turned to find the ball sitting idle behind him, only needing to touch it to score.

It was a disappointing loss for the home side considering the Storm were without Ryan Papenhuyzen, Cameron Munster and halfback Jahrome Hughes who left the match early with a shoulder injury.

The Roosters were too good for the Cowboys on Sunday night, winning 42-8. Wong started in the second row and lasted only 17 minutes due to an illegal “Cannon Ball” type tackle which went unpenalized.

The Roosters confirmed he will miss 6 weeks, the injury described as a “moderate grade MCL injury”.
