Surprise packet of the year Kitione Kautoga has been elevated to the Eels top 30 squad for the remainder of the season and signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until 2027.

Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill said, “Kitione came to the club looking for an opportunity and he has grabbed it with both hands. His performances so far this year have been very impressive. He has connected well with the players, the broader staff, and the coaches love working with him. The Eels were beaten by the Dragons in Wollongong last night. Kautoga started in the backrow, made 111 metres from 15 carries and 31 tackles defensively.

Parramatta were down 26-4 at halftime before 3 second half tries brought them back within a converted try. The Dragons however scored a try and kicked a penalty in the final 10 minutes to win the match 34-20

Parramatta move into 15th spot after beating the Gold Coast Titans 36-20.

Kitione Kautoga started  in the 2nd row and played out the full match. He made 192 metres from 16 carries with an impressive 99 post contact metres and 1 linebreak. He was however beaten defensively which led to a try, but overall 35 tackles for an 89% accuracy.
