Jiuta Wainiqolo’s 2025 Top 14 season will be remembered for scoring some breathtaking solo tries and he carried that form into the Flying Fijians first test match of the year against the Wallabies.

The Ra native was exceptional, roaming the field and injecting himself into the backline right throughout the game.

His run in the 54th minute will be on highlight reels for years to come as he beat 5 defenders on a 70 metre run to set up Lekima Tagitagivalu in the corner and also put Fiji in the lead for the first time in the game.

His 113 metres were the most in the game and also equal match high with Salesi Rayasi for defenders beaten with 6.

Toulon exit the Top 14 finals after losing their Semi Final against Bordeaux 24-39.

Wainiqolo started on the wing and didn’t get many opportunities. He made a linebreak in the final minute, beating several players cutting back in-field but to no avail at the end.

He will now join the Flying Fijians for their upcoming Tests against Australia and Scotland.

Jiuta Wainiqolo set up a try after another dazzling run in Toulon’s Quarter Final victory over Castres. He would later score the final try of the game to take the score past the half century mark.

Although the scoreline suggests a comfortable win, Castres only trailed by 3 points with 10 minutes remaining.

Wainiqolo chalked up over 130 metres, easily the most in the game and also beat the most defenders with 7.

Heartbreak as Fiji lose in final minutes

The Flying Fijians battled from 14-nil down to lead 15-14 in the 2nd half of their opening test match against the Wallabies. Jiuta Wainiqolo set up both Fiji's tries including a trademark linebreak where he beat several defenders on a 70 metre run to set up Lekima Tagitagivalu in the corner.

Fiji looked to have scored through Sireli Maqala minutes later if not for the TMO intervening.

The winning try came in the 78th minute. The Wallabies winning 21-18.

Toulon exit after Semi Final loss

Toulon's season came to an end this morning after losing their Semi Final against Bordeaux 24-39.

The visitors trailed 10-15 at the break but Bordeaux pulled away in the 2nd half and had too much class in the end.

Setariki Tuicuvu scored Toulon's final try in the 61st minute when he crashed onto a ball, running a great line to score. He also made a linebreak in the first half, one of the few times they broke the defensive line.

Toulon heading to Semi Finals

Toulon are headed to the Top 14 Semi Finals after beating Castres 52-23 in their Quarter Final. Winger Jiuta Wainiqolo set up a try after another amazing run while Setariki Tuicuvu also had a try assist through an offload.

Wainiqolo got his own 5 pointer right at the death to take the score past 50.

While the scoreline suggests a comfortable win for the home side, the match remained close up until the final 15 minutes. Toulon face Bordeaux next weekend.
