The Betfred Super League is the premier Rugby League competition in England the rest of Europe. It features 12 teams (including French side Catalans).
Former Fiji Bati second rower Tariq Sims has announced his retirement from rugby league after a 14-year professional career. In an emotional Instagram post, he thanked those who supported him along the way.
“As I close this chapter of my career, I want to take a moment to thank the people who made it possible,” Sims wrote.
He paid special tribute to his wife, Ashleigh:
“To my wife Ashleigh, thank you for your endless love, patience, and support through every high and low. This crazy journey wouldn’t have been possible without your strength behind me and encouragement to keep pushing when I didn’t think I could find it in myself to keep going.”
His career started back in 2011 with the North Queensland Cowboys where he remained until 2014 before a 2 year stint with Newcastle, 7 years with the Dragons and then the Storm before finishing off his career in the Super League with Catalans.
He represented the Bati at the 2013 RLWC and played 6 Origin matches for NSW from 2018-2022.
Taane Milne scored his first try for the Huddersfield Giants in their upset victory over Warrington 24-16. The Fiji Bati representative sliced back against the defence, beating 2 defenders to score a crucial try.
He set up the next try with a trademark offload, over the defence while being tackled for his winger to crash into the corner.

Leeds Rhinos winger Maika Sivo is back in Australia recovering from the serious knee injury that ruled him out of the 2025 season. He has had surgery and is progressing well, but still faces tough rehab ahead.
Coach Brad Arthur said: “He’s still rehabbing but we let him go home for a month. We’ve got some good contacts who are looking after him at the moment. When he comes back he’s going to have a lot of training ahead of him – because when the guys are having a break, he’ll have to train right through.”
Arthur added: “We gave him some time with his family and he’s not far away from returning: but he’s tracking really well too… We’ve got someone there looking after him and making sure they’re on top of him but he’s not training with Parramatta.”
Sivo, who joined Leeds this year on a two-year deal, will return to England in the coming weeks.
