The Parramatta Eels were off to a flyer against the Panthers in their round 19 local derby. Second Rower Kitione Kautoga scored the opening try in the 14th minute, running a straight, flat line through the Penrith defence to go in untouched.
The Panthers dominated the rest of the game, eventually winning 32-10.
It's Kautoga's 2nd try for the club.
Jethro Rinakama made his NRL debut for the Bulldogs last night against the Cowboys in Townsville. He was on the end of a linebreak in the 39th minute to score the try that would ultimately be the difference in the Bulldogs 12-8 win over the Cowboys.
The 20 year old Winger has been impressive in reserve grade, scoring 11 tries in his first 12 matches.
21 Carries for 183 metres, 57 post contact metres, 3 tackle breaks and a big hit on his first outing!
The Flying Fijians have defeated Scotland in Suva 29-14. In a memorable day for the men in white, they scored 3 tries and were awarded a penalty try while Caleb Muntz kicked penalty goal.
Scotland started both halves strong, scoring both their tries in the first 5 minutes of each half. But once Fiji started gaining momentum, they visitors struggled to keep up at times.
Tevita Ikanivere scored Fiji's first try through a lineout maul before Kalaveti Ravouvou finished off a clinical backline move to dot down in the right corner.
In the second half it was in-form winger Jiuta Wainiqolo who broke through, beat several defenders before scoring a brilliant try.
Whilst Fiji will take the win, their were several tryscoring opportunities gone begging.
Highlanders Centre Timoci Tavatavanawai has been selected in the All-Blacks team to face France in the 2nd test of their 3 match series. He has been named on the bench and will officially make his International debut when he takes the field.
The 27 year old left Fiji at the age of 16 to pursue his rugby dreams and has turned down approaches to play for his homeland in the hope of securing a prestigious New Zealand jersey.
Flying Fijians head coach Mick Byrne has selected the bulk of the side that narrowly lost to Australia to face Scotland on Saturday in Suva.
Prop Peni Ravai who injured his arm in last weekend's match is replaced by Mesake Doge, bringing Samuela Tawake onto the vacant bench spot.
Philip Baselala is replaced by Sam Wye, he too is likely to make his debut when he comes off the bench.
Vilimoni Botitu fills the vacant #23 jersey worn by Sireli Maqala last weekend. Maqala is promoted to starting Centre in place of Iosefo Masi in what is the biggest change from last weekend. See the full team here
The Flying Fijians battled from 14-nil down to lead 15-14 in the 2nd half of their opening test match against the Wallabies. Jiuta Wainiqolo set up both Fiji's tries including a trademark linebreak where he beat several defenders on a 70 metre run to set up Lekima Tagitagivalu in the corner.
Fiji looked to have scored through Sireli Maqala minutes later if not for the TMO intervening.
The winning try came in the 78th minute. The Wallabies winning 21-18.
