Waqa has signed with Pro D2 club Valence Romans, stepping up into the higher division after a year at Tarbes in the National 1.
Osea Waqa started on the wing for Valence in their round 5 matchup with heavyweights Oyonnax.
The home side posted 27 points in the first half and more than doubled it in the 2nd fourty for a 55-8 final score.
Waqa made 7 carries for 16 metres, 1 offload and 4 tackles. He turned possession over on 2 occasions and was yellow carded in the dying minutes.
Despite the heavy defeat, Valence hold onto 7th spot and face Beziers next weekend.
Valence travelled to Brive in round 3 and found it tough to score any points, their only try coming by the way of Mosese Mawalu in the 53rd minute.
Osea Waqa played his first match as a starter for Valence, on the left wing opposite Asaeli Tuivuaka.
Waqa made 3 carries for 36 metres and a linebreak along with a dominant tackle in defence.
Osea Waqa made his official Pro D2 debut, coming off the bench for Valence in their home win over Dax 36-23.
He didn’t see much action, required only from the 72nd minute.
Osea Waqa’s “indefinite” loan from Castres to Tarbes is officially over after the former Fiji U20 Fullback signed with Valence in the Pro D2.
He played 13 matches for Tarbes, starting 10 of those games and scoring 2 tries. Whilst mainly at Fullback he finished the season at Outside Centre.
