Tasman Mako’s season came to an end after a 27-7 loss to Bay of Plenty.
Maloni Kunawave started on the bench and entered the game in the 55th minute.
He made 6 carries for 30 metres and 1 tackle.
It’s been a big year for the 20 year old. He represented New Zealand at the U20 RWC and Rugby Championship and finished off 2025 with 3 NPC performances for the Mako.
Fullback start in first appearance

Maloni Kunawave made his first appearance of the season for Tasman, starting at Fullback in their loss to Auckland 21-29.
It’s his first match since his debut back in round 8 of last season.
