A physical second rower who represented Fiji at senior level and also U20’s. He was an original member of the Fijian Drua Super Rugby outfit in 2022.
Chris Minimbi got his first starting jersey for Niort in his 2nd match for the club. After back-to-back wins over Tarbes and Chambery, they travelled to Rouen to take on a desperate home team looking to end their 3 match losing streak.
Niort couldn’t keep their win streak alive and lost the match 19-10. Rouen were without Minimbi’s former teammate Api Vota.
Chris Minimbi made his National 1 debut for Niort in round 8 against Massy. They came into the match on the back of a win after 3 straight losses from rounds 4-6 but couldn’t get past a determined home side.
Minimbi started on the bench and played the final 30 minutes. Since his time with the Fijian Drua, he has played in Queensland’s Hospital Cup and also trialled with the Reds.
It’s good to see the big man return especially given he is still in his mid 20’s and has a lot to offer.
