After stellar seasons in 2018 and 2019, former Nasinu Secondary College student Virimi Vakatawa is nominated for the European Player of the year award.

Since switching from 7’s rugby, he has developed his game in the 15’s code thus becoming one of the games elite backs. Blessed with power, pace and an all round game-breaking ability.

Vakatawa was selected for the 2019 RWC in Japan and proved to be France’s most lethal attacking weapon, often running through defenders and demanding attention whenever he had the ball.

He has also carved out a handy highlights reel from his days as a 7’s player where he will turn out for the French side every now and again.
