Biloela winger Sakiusa Meya Vana is known for his athletic abilities, elusiveness and try scoring feats. A determined and hardworking player who has aspirations of one day making the big time.

Sakiusa grew in Namara, Tailevu with his mother and quit his schooling at the Fiji National University to chase his rugby dreams. He played for Tailevu and also Police before moving over to Australia where he has linked up with the Biloela Club.

This season through 16 matches he has 11 tries including the recent Capricorn Rugby Queensland Grand Final where he scored three tries and was given man of the match honours for his efforts. Boliela winning 32-15.

His form has caught the attention of Island Breeze rugby, ultimately recruiting the elusive winger who has his eyes firmly set on a Queensland Reds jersey. Sakiusa says “this team is like a door to the Reds” where players like Fijian Drua backrower Joseva Tamani and Wallabies winger Filipo Daugunu are just a couple of the names who have played at the club and gone onto bigger things.

It’s another step on the path to achieve his ultimate goal – “it’s always been my dream to wear the Fiji jersey one day and play for my country”
