A junior athletics star, she represented Australia in the 100m sprint, 200m and also in long jump at the 2009 World School Games in Qatar.

Her Sevens journey started In 2012 when she drove her cousin to a talent identification camp in Melbourne but would end up playing herself. No more than 12 months later she was in a Green and Gold jersey.

She has since made her way to the top and on the way becoming the first Fijian in history to win a Gold Medal at an Olympic Games beating the Fiji Men’s by 4 days.

She also is Australia’s highest ever tryscorer, pointscorer and sits 7th on their all time games.

Ellia was born in Suva and moved to Australia at the age of 5 where she was raised by her adoptive parents Yolanta and Evan Green who were journalists residing in Fiji. Her father died when she was young and she shared a close bond with her mother who sadly lost her brave battle with cancer in 2018.

Going forward Ellia could feature for the New Zealand Warriors Women’s team again in the NRLW and could make her State of Origin debut in the coming years.
