An athletic backrower with a great offload and high workrate. Sowakula represented the All-Blacks in 2022 and will likely come into contention for a Flying Fijians jersey in July 2025.

Pita Gus Sowakula started at Number 8 and put in a solid performance. He made a team high 14 carries for a tough 20 metres, a match high 3 offloads and completed all of his 12 tackle attempts.
A daunting task in week 2 as they travel to La Rochelle.
Clermont were eliminated from the title race by Bayonne 3-20. Sowakula started at Number 8 and racked up 17 tackles, the most in the match and he missed none.
Although not named in the Flying Fijians squad and not yet eligible until mid July, he will likely feature for the National side by end of year.
