After a week off, National 1 was back for Day 4 of the competition.

Soyaux were winless coming into this game against Stade Nicois (Nice) who had only 1 win to their name. This match featured 6 Fijians.

Joketani Koroi started at lock for Nice and scored the first try of the match in the 10th minute. Nice had a 10 point lead but that’s where the scoring ended for them. Soyaux would score 27 unanswered points and win their first match of the season.

On the losing side along with Koroi were Sakiusa Bureitakiyaca on the wing and Sunia Vola at prop. Vola comes into contention for a Flying Fijians jersey at the end of the month after it was revealed that the test squad for the Autumn tests would most likely picked from Europe based players. Vola represented the Fiji Under 20’s in 2012 and 2013.

Esava Delai played his second match of the season for Dax who lost narrowly to Blagnac 20-24.

Akuila Tabualevu, another former Fiji Under 20’s rep, came off the bench for Valence in their top of the table clash with Chambery who had Ben Neiceru at centre. Valence won the game 24-21 and handed Chambery their first loss of the season.

The match between Soyaux and Chambery had 5 Fijians. Soyaux came into the match without a win. Laitia Tagotago scored the first try of the game in the 12th minute. He was yellow carded in the 32nd minute and Avenisi Vasuinubu who was playing his second match this season scored another try to take his tally to 2 tries in as many games. Tagotago would score another try in the 54th minute which takes him the top of the try-scorer list for all Fijians in the competition.

On the losing side, Kemueli Lavetanakoroi started at lock, Eneri Lotawa on the wing and Isikeli Davetawalu coming off the bench to replace the flanker.
